Harvest Season Begins

The Valley Changes When Harvest Arrives

October is short in Manang.

For a few weeks, the orchards move at a different pace. Apples that have spent the season growing in the high mountain air are ready to come down from the trees, and the work that has been building quietly all year suddenly becomes immediate.

At around 3,000 metres, harvest is not something that can simply be stretched out. When the apples are ready, everything else stops.

The day begins in the orchards. Apples are picked by hand, gathered carefully, and brought in from the mountainside. Crates begin to fill. The winery comes alive.

This is the moment when orchard and winery become one continuous process.

From Orchard to Winery

The fruit that grew here is the fruit that goes into the wine.

The apples are pressed, and their juice begins its transformation in the winery. Small batches, stainless steel, and mountain water shape what comes next.

There are no shortcuts in that journey.

The process is simple, deliberate, and closely connected to the place where it begins.

A Season in Motion

For Manang Valley, harvest is more than a production milestone.

It is the moment when the orchard, the people, the mountain, and the winery come together.

For a few short weeks, everyone moves with the harvest. Then, almost as quickly as it began, October passes.

The crates are empty. The orchard becomes quiet again. The next season begins.

From the mountain, through the harvest, into the bottle.
